A Serb political analyst, Dragan Petrovich, said that holding the Non-Aligned Movement is an endorsement to Tehran's successful diplomacy and the West's failure in isolating the Islamic Republic of Iran.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Petrovich noted that IR Iran has gained a lot of success in different domestic and international areas over past 33 years despite political pressures exerted by the US on Iran's economy.

He made the remarks on the occasion of the upcoming 16th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit slated for August 26-31 in Tehran. More than 50 countries will attend the upcoming NAM Summit.

'The main goal of the US by exerting political and economic pressures on IR Iran is to isolate Iran in international arena,' the Serbian analyst added.

Petrovich pointed out that it goes without saying that the upcoming Tehran summit is a turning point in realizing NAM's big goals in terms of proximity and expansion of cooperation among countries in different areas.

'Washington over past several months did everything it had in power to boycott the NAM summit through media propaganda,' he added.

The 50th anniversary of establishment of NAM was celebrated in last year in Belgrade where delegations from more than 100 countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran attended the summit.

NAM comprises of 120 member-states and 17 countries have observer status. It is considered the biggest international political formation after the United Nations and the majority of its members are from developing countries.

Iran is presently the rotating head of NAM and it will continue to do so until 2015.
